Club Member in Critical Condition

November 4, 2011

This is just to let everyone know that longtime Cycles Veloce member Sherri Norton was struck by a car while cycling on Santiago Canyon Road Thursday afternoon. Sadly, she suffered critical injuries from the accident and was rushed to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana. The club asks that you please keep her and her husband Mark in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

Update 11/04 8pm:

An MRI is scheduled for Saturday (11/05) afternoon to check her spinal cord. Then they plan to operate on her injured arm and leg.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark and Sherri during this difficult time. We wish we could be there to support Mark. Big hugs to Mark and Sherri. Frank and I are very sad by this news. We only hope the Cycles Veloce team will wrap their arms around the Nortons as you all did for Frankie years back. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sherri, Mark, and the medical staff at Western Medical Center. Has anyone organized an around the clock support system for Mark? If so, please let us know so we can get ourselves into the rotation…..thanks.

Melinda and Rich.. From our side as the club, we are blessed to have Pam & Kenny Fuller acting as primary communicators and organizers. Best to reach to “Pamela Williams Fuller” on Facebook or nutrx45 AT msn dot com – The outpooring of support has been a bright spot and thank you for your offer to help.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I originally read about it on and then I hope she recovers fully. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I also ride in the canyon a lot and know of Sherri, I see her at a lot of the century rides I do. She and her family will continue to be in our prayers, and we will pray for a miraculous healing for her. Thank you for the update, it has been on my mind ever since yesterday when I got a frantic call from my daughter, who was concerned that it might have been me. This could happen to any of us. I’m glad to hear that she is still fighting.

Your wife is in my prayers. I also ride a Look bike and ride Santiago Canyon all the time and got several calls from friends thinking it might have been me. I will now be even more careful riding through the canyon.

I will keep praying so please keep us up dated on her progress
